Kumkum

Description : It is made up of turmeric and other materials. Dry powder of turmeric is mixed with a bit of slaked lime, which turns the rich yellow powder into a red color. Kumkuma is widely used for worshiping Hindu goddesses, like Maa Durga and Maa Lakshmi, and a kumkuma powder is also used during Holi (the Festival of Colours), a popular Hindu spring festival.

Uses : People put Kumkum on their finger and apply it on the forehead or between the eyebrows.
